"You can always find the sun within yourself if you will only search."
— Maxwell Maltz
There are some compelling reasons to love ourselves unconditionally. Self-love can be the lubricant that
greases the wheels of all the things in life that matter to us: inner peace, harmony, balance, creativity,
joy, abundance, a sense of connectedness with others. And self-love has a profound impact
on our state of health, something that becomes increasingly important to us as we age.
Loving oneself no matter what comes easily and naturally to many people. Their reservoir of self-love is
always full, always available to draw from for the purposes of recharging, renewing, healing, and
moving forward in strength.
Many of the individuals I do Life Purpose Readings for are here on Earth to develop unconditional self-love. For some
of these clients, the idea of loving oneself — conditionally or unconditionally — feels
so foreign and remote that it seems utterly unattainable.
For some people, attempts to love self produces awkward and uneasy experiences.
For example, they may experience something that seems a little too close to narcissism for comfort.
For others, negative emotions or past associations may surface, such as fears, feelings of shame or inadequacy,
or memories of past mistakes or hurtful experiences. Still others may hear "old tapes" of parental scoldings or
others' negative opinions and judgments toward them. Associations like these can sabotage our best intentions to
In my work as a life purpose psychic, I often hear people say they wish they could love themselves, but
they just don't know how to do it. So I will share with you here a technique for learning to love yourself.
Step 1: Stop wishing. Wishing implies that you can't love yourself, which is incorrect.
Step 2: Start affirming. Go off somewhere by yourself. Quiet your mind, close your eyes, go within,
and say out loud, "I love myself, I love myself, I love myself, I love myself, I love myself, I love myself,
I love myself." Say it over and over. Say it like you mean it. And say it like you intend to make every cell
of your physical body believe it too, all the way out to your fingertips, your toes, and the top of your head.
Do this repetitious affirmation 3 times every day. This may seem awkward at first, but persevere. Eventually
you'll get comfortable saying it, then you'll start to like the way it feels. Soon you'll start to notice positive
changes occurring within yourself, and you'll see situations in your life smooth out and become more harmonious.
Don't be surprised if you find yourself handling difficult situations more easily and effectively too.
Keep this up (there is no reason to stop), and you'll gradually raise your spiritual vibration significantly, while transforming
your life in ways that you can't yet imagine.
